- there was a Press Conference in Beverly Hills on Sept 28, and the world has seen the
Premiere in New York on October 5, 2008.
So all the fans (including me) are looking forward to a lot of new stuff, interviews and photos, to the premieres - maybe for to catch a glimpse of the man there - and of course to the movie itself. So I hope it's going to be a great time !
Meanwhile Leo does not forget his concern for the environment and the planet and so he has something to say to the next president: "Going Green Is 'Patriotic'".

In Body of Lies' Leonardo plays a journalist, injured in the Iraq war, who is hired by the CIA to track down an Al Qaeda leader in Jordan who is suspected of planning a terrorist attack on the United States. This was Leonardo's first film with Director Ridley Scott, and his second film with costar Russell Crowe. William Monahan wrote the screenplay for the movie which is based on a novel by David Ignatius. This will be Monahan's second project with Leonardo, fresh off of his Oscar win for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'The Departed.'
Body of Lies was shot in Washington D.C. And Morocco, and wrapped production in December of 2007. The film is currently set for US release on October 10th, 2008.

Since Leonardo has finished shooting his last film 'Ashecliffe' with Martin Scorsese,
it's obvious he's on vacation, because he has been spotted in Ibiza/Spain, Germany,
New York,
Los Angeles,
in Las Vegas and recently
with friends on Hawaii.

The sad news of today are that we hear Leonardo's beloved grandma has died on Monday
in a hospital in Recklinghausen, Germany at the age of 93. So this was the reason, why
Leonardo and his mother Irmelin spent a few days last week in Germany where they visited
"Oma Helene" in the hospital. The following weekend he spent on a yacht in Spain, as we can
see on the pictures below, where he didn't look so happy....

I'm rather sad to hear that and my thoughts go to Leonardo and his family - and I'd like to send him a hug !

April 2008 Leo and Martin Scorsese are still working on their new project - the film's title is now officially 'Ashecliffe' - and it seems, between takes Leo sometimes finds the time to watch a NBA basketball game:
BTW: I've seen Martin Scorsese's movie "Shine a Light" - The Rolling Stones at Beacon Theatre, New York 2006 - and found it very enjoyable: beautifully filmed (great location !), a good concert with great moments and an intimate Stones portrait with funny clips from their past (as it seemed to me from a fan's view) and I liked it a lot !
March 2008 The filming of Leonardo's new project 'Shutter Island' (second title: 'Ashecliffe') - with director Martin Scorsese - has started on March 5 at Taunton, Massachusetts. No set photos with Leo yet, but he made a short visit between takes to Hong Kong on March 23 - click here - to present 'The 11th Hour' there.

Nothing official yet, but....
February 15, 2008 Leonardo has finished shooting 'Body of Lies' in December and is quite obviously on holiday these days, as you can clearly see at the Martin Scorsese confirmed in one of the interviews he gave last week for the German film festival "Berlinale", that his next project will be 'Shutter Island' with Leonardo DiCaprio, which will probably start in March.

It looks very much as if 'Shutter Island' will be Leonardo's next film.
The screenplay - written by Laeta Kalogridis - is adapted from a novel by Dennis Lehane.
In the drama, which is set in 1954, Leonardo will play "U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels, who is
investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally
insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island." (from Variety)
The production will re-unite Martin Scorsese (as a director) and Leonardo DiCaprio for the fourth time; it will be a co-production between
Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures, and Leonardo's Appian Ways is one of the co-producers.
Ben Kingsley and Mark Ruffalo have already joined the project.
Variety reports the film is scheduled to start shooting in March - but there is nothing
confirmed yet by Leo's Official Website.

The filming of 'Body of Lies' has just begun. Leonardo will star together with Russel Crowe
under the direction of Ridley Scott ('The Gladiator').
The Warner Bros. picture is based on a novel by David Ignatius, and the screenplay is written by William Monahan,
who won an Oscar this year for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'The Departed'.

June 2007 Leonardo is currently fiming "Revolutionary Road".
For this film he will be re-united with Kate Winslet; it is directed by Kate's husband, Sam Mendes;
