What is the best thing about being Leonardo DiCaprio?
Being able to have a very interesting life.
And the worst thing?
The lies that have been said about me. Just surrounding this movie (The Beach), the environmental stuff, getting my costar pregnant, getting eaten by a puffer fish - ridiculous stuff. I don't get upset nor laugh over it, it is what it is. I just take it for what it is. I have a responsibility now.

Finally, from the City of Angels: Former President Bill Clinton always enjoys a high profile when he visits the land of lotus eaters. Last week at Hollywood's ultra-trendy Maestro's Steak House, Mr. Clinton dined with "Gangs of New York" superstar Leonardo DiCaprio and Leo's young lady, Sara Foster, the daughter of composer David Foster. A good time was had by all. I bet Bill will be among the lucky first to see Leo's coming Martin Scorsese epic. Clinton never lacks for hot dinner companions when he pit-stops in Hollywood. Perhaps that's because denizens of the movie industry are always in the process of re-inventing themselves in some fashion - even if it's just the monthly Botox injection. If you have the charisma and smarts to work your way out of a messy situation, more power to you, all is forgiven.

Shore thing
We called it right last week. Hip hotelier Ian Schrager has signed on as co-owner of the Shore Club in Miami, and he seems to have had an immediate effect even though it's the off season. Over the July 4th weekend, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and model Carmen Kass shuttled back and forth between the Shore and Schrager's neighboring Delano, dining at the restaurants in both places, watching fireworks from the Shore Club's penthouse and clowning around at the Delano's pool. - (Ian owns Mondrian in Hollywood where well known Skybar is located.)
