A Reel Dreamer.....A poem by Claudia....
Before our eyes, on a silver screen
He comes to us as one who's seen.
A poet, a lover, a man, a boy -
Bringing to millions, hours of joy.
He shares his dream with those so willing,
To be led to places romantic or chilling.
In a darkened theatre, us he transports
To ships, the West, a King and his courts.
He changes his colors so like a chameleon,
And allows us to glimpse the soul the man.
His dreams are his and his alone,
And through his craft a light he's shone
Upon a waiting world so hungry for beauty
That many consider his gift a duty.
Yet the dreamer dreams, and inspires those
Who want to travel the path he chose.
He walks in beauty like the night
Always holding out for a part that's just right.
As integrity and art collide
How rare to find a man who places passion and pride
Above the lure of quick money or an easy part
And how fortunate for those who witness the master and his art.
How can one man so young inspire
Countless people who can admire
His beauty, intelligence, wit and grace,
A man who is more than a beautiful face.
To do, to dream, to lay yourself bare
And to share that dream is a gift so rare,
With thanks and awe we give a hand
To the actor, the artist, the sensitive man.
LEAVING HOME...
A poem.....by: Leonardo DiCaprio
Leaving home
Burning the roof of my mouth
Kind of anxiety.
Through a mini-blinded window
Dissecting clouds aren't about to leave.
I take them in my arms,
A hug that is only vapor,
And leaves only doubt in my mind.
Moisture thickness enough to hold on to
But the ink runs together on the only
Proof I have of my worth
The cloud may pass through me
It's thick white warmth inside
And passing through my back
As easily as it entered.
But who would believe that
When I can't even believe myself.
The cloud that surrounds me now is
Cold and miserable and dark as the earth.
I've built it myself of
Blood and tendons and impassible skin,
Its shadow can't be outrun.
I walk dizzily on angled pavement
Peering out at the walking feet of strangers
I can see my friends beyond the edge of my fog
They smile at me, walk on by
But the wind of their departure
Does not clear the smog from around my body
Around my neck
Choking me, strangling the life I live
In the blink of an eye
The ground below me may collapse
Swallowing me into a man-made sewer
With my self-made cloud tagging along
I don't like sunny days anyways
And the haze around me sleeps with me at night
And perches on the books I read
Keeps me from being what I dread most...
Being alone.

Future projects:
- Blood Diamond
Leo will portray a smuggler embroiled in the civil war in Sierra Leone circa 1999, exposing the violent underworld of 'conflict diamonds' the precious stones used to finance rebellions, privateers and terrorists...it's a movie that may 'dim' their glittering reputation.
He took the role after speaking to experts from Survival International, the London-based human rights organisation whose lobbying also influenced the rapper Kanye West to compose his recent hit single Diamonds from Sierra Leone.
Blood Diamond (Warner Bros.), a Drama/Thriller, starts shooting in February 2006 in South Africa, Mozambique.
- For Whom the Bell Tolls
According to Variety, May 2005, Leo is in talks to star in For Whom the Bell Tolls, an adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's novel which David Benioff is scripting.
He is said to be keenly interested in playing Robert Jordan, the young American teacher who joins an antifascist guerrilla unit in the mountains of Spain. DiCaprio won't commit to the project without a director, however, and none is attached as yet.
The novel was previously adapted into a 1944 Paramount pic that starred Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman, both of whom were nommed for acting Oscars.
- The Chancellor Manuscript
Paramount Pictures is in final negotiations to pre-emptively acquire Robert Ludlum's political thriller.
Michael Seitzman will write the adaptation, which will be produced by Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher's Red Wagon Entertainment, DiCaprio's Appian Way and the Ludlum estate.
The novel was published in 1977, though the big-screen version will be updated. DiCaprio will play novelist Peter Chancellor, who is writing a thriller about Washington power brokers being blackmailed with information gathered by intelligence agencies in order to alter U.S. policy. When Chancellor's work of fiction turns out to have stumbled into reality, he ends up on a run for his life, becoming like a character from his own novel.
"Michael Seitzman's reinvention of this story captures all the twists and paranoia that was part of the Ludlum genius but also takes on the contemporary relevance of the material," Paramount Pictures president Gail Berman said.
Seitzman, who penned the untitled Niki Caro project starring Charlize Theron, had been in love with the book since reading it when he was 10. He pitched his updated take to the studio, which then pre-emptively started to buy the rights.
"We live in this crazy post-Patriot Act environment where Benjamin Franklin's warning that those that give up essential liberties for temporary security don't deserve either one are being ignored, so the subject matter seemed ripe," Seitzman said in an interview.
Of DiCaprio, he added: "This is not pap, but there really is no one better for this than Leo. The author is supposed to be an author, not an action hero. You're supposed to buy him as a gifted intellectual. Chancellor has only imagined the world outside his four walls, but now, not only does he have to be a participant in it, he has to save it."
Red Wagon president Bobby Cohen will oversee the project along with Brad Simpson of Appian Way for their respective companies. Jeffrey Weiner and Henry Morrison will supervise for the Ludlum estate, while Paramount co-president, production Alli Shearmur will shepherd the project for the studio.
Ludlum's work has been enjoying a renaissance in Hollywood since "The Bourne Identity" became a hit for Universal in 2002. Universal made a sequel, "The Bourne Supremacy," in 2004 and also is developing "The Sigma Protocol."
