Leonardo DiCaprio in the Streets of Montréal

by Michel Girouard

No, don't be suprised if you meet in the next days one of the most famous actors in the world in the streets of Montréal and in the Old Capital.

Indeed, since Wednesday, the one who became a worldwide legend of cinema after the movie Titanic is in Montréal with the man who is known as the Father of E.T., the genius moviemaker Steven Spielberg. After filming in the streets of New York during the last weekend, they are now here to shoot a couple of scenes for the upcoming movie Catch Me If You Can. DiCaprio, who is also going to Québec, will be staying there in the region for an expected period of 15 days where Tom Hanks will join him. During the last months, Steven Spielberg was seen a couple of times in Montréal to check on his future filming sets and as many other celebrities, he stayed at the Vogue Hotel. Leonardo who's already here will be joined soon by Mr Oscar, Tom Hanks who happens to be also one of Spielberg's favorite actors. It predicts a lot of excitement for Montréal these days.

Leonardo will go to Cannes and will come back

The next weeks will be very busy for DiCaprio who will also have to leave for a period of 72 hours in order to attend the Cannes Festival and present some extracts of the film Gangs of New York. It means a great comeback for the young actor marked for life by the movie Titanic and who's last movie The Beach shot in Thailand with Virgine Ledoyen didn't do very well at the boxoffice. But finding himself working with two of the greatest names of the movie business Scorsese and Spielberg, he played the winning cards and he can't but find himself back at the top of his art again. Because before being considered a hunk, Leonardo DiCaprio remains in the first place an excellent and brilliant actor.

Thanks a lot to Pat_ for the translation !
